Case
One.
Relocation
Department of Large Corporation
A
large multinational relocation group had faced five years of corporate
reorganizations and refocusing efforts resulting in low morale.
Seasoned employees were seeing their loyalty and years of hard work
resulting in precipitous changes and potential job loss. The group
was faced with the challenge of competing for business that previously
was automatically assigned to them.
Challenge:
Management
wanted higher activism among the team to generate and retain relocation
customers.
Recommendation:
Develop
a two phase solution.
Phase
One:
Encourage
employees to voice concerns and acknowledge accomplishments.
Re-evaluate
strategies for coping with the change and apply those skills to
current situations.
Group
was empowered by own initiative with full support from management.
Phase
Two:
Work
with leadership using six-point evaluation tool to measure efforts
and resources to meet the groups objectives.
Management
group was interviewed and presented with an objective evaluation
of their effectiveness.
Discussion
results led to focus and action groups to keep business functions
on track.
